Battle Tanks in Action in Al Kabune

ANNA News - Battle Tanks in Action in Al Kabune

The Al Kabune group of terrorists, which had been earlier encircled by the SAA troops, does not pose any significant threat to Damascus city. The SAA troops’ primary mission was to control the area keeping the militants encircled and forcing them to lay down their arms. If the militants were opening fire on the nearby military and civil facilities, the army troops immediately responded with returned fire strikes thus gradually reducing the bandits’ combat capacity.

Today, we are back in Al Kabune to film SAA assault on the terrorists’ defense positions there. We were told that the attack would be carried out from several different directions simultaneously. Presently, I was following a group of SAA officers to their observation position situated at the front line of the area of combat engagement. The first direction of the imminent attack was supposed to be over there.

SAA Officer: “Everything will be very well seen from here. We’ll control the action from here.”

SAA Officer: “This is where everything can be seen from perfectly! We’ll be here!”

The SAA battle tanks were approaching. The concrete columns provided us with excellent cover against the militant sniper fire. The militants were about 40 meters away from us, straight ahead and to the right from our position.

SAA Officer: “Right along the dark fence and to the right, there are some positions of the militants. The first tank act as yesterday! Strike on that alleyway. There are positions inside that need to be destroyed.”

As soon as they arrived, the battle tanks immediately took their firing positions that had been designated to the right and left flanks of the nearest block of residential area houses.

SAA Officer: “Good! Good! Keep going! Move turret to the right a bit! Enough! Fire!”

Here, there was a buzz of a sniper bullet, now.

Nobody seems to be going to withdraw from here until the battle tanks have fulfilled their present combat mission.

Being aware that the militant concentration was very high down here, the tank men also actively used their machine guns.

Having fulfilled our mission on this direction, we moved on to another flank.
